How To Be An Entrepreneur Without Money

With unemployment rates at an all time high many people might be wondering how to be an entrepreneur without money. No matter what the actual unemployment rate is, if you are out of work and struggling to get by, it is stressful!

Let’s get real here, having an income matters. Even if you are living a very simple lifestyle, you still have to have the necessities.

So what can you do when you’re out of work and having trouble finding a job? Find a need and fill it!

You may be wondering how you can do that. Let me give you an example.

A lady I knew several years ago had just moved to our neighborhood. She hadn’t been in the country very long and didn’t know the language fluently.

She applied for many, many jobs, but couldn’t seem to find anyone who was hiring. This was something she hadn’t counted on.

She had some training, but needed to update her skills. She had begun classes, but couldn’t seem to find work. And things got really tight financially. So tight it got really scary.

So she decided to figure out how to be an entrepreneur without money. With only a tiny amount of cash, she knew she had to do something out pretty quick.

Being new in town, and fairly new to the country she had a lot of things to overcome. She had no money, no car, no materials to market her business, no real credibility, and no plan. Sounds pretty tough doesn’t it?

But you know what, she made it work. She began to think of what skills she had. Many people had commented that she was very good at cleaning house. And they were right; she really was a great housekeeper.

Another thing she knew was that a lot of people are unhappy with their housecleaning service. So even though she had no money and no car, she thought this might be an opportunity for her to have her own business and be able to pay her bills.

She wasn’t especially excited about owning a residential cleaning service, but it was something she was good at. She needed some money coming in pretty badly, so she decided to go for it.

My friend decided to price her services a little lower than the other cleaning companies because she would use the clients cleaning supplies and vacuum.

She called to find out what it would cost for a business license and to get bonded. Then, she used a friend’s computer to make up a flyer and printed off a copy. Next, she went to the library and made a hundred or so copies of the flyer.

She walked around the neighborhood, delivering the flyers. By targeting her immediate area, she could walk to her client’s homes. Once she got her first client, she paid her fees for the business license and to get bonded.

From the flyers she got 4 regular customers. Within a couple of months she had 12 clients just from word-of-mouth recommendations. This was the perfect amount for her. Over the next several months she got many more referrals, which she had to turn down because she needed time to study!

She had enough money coming in to live a simple life and was able to finish her classes and move forward with life in a new country. It is possible to learn how to be an entrepreneur without money.

So you see, getting your own business started doesn’t have to be rocket science. Take a look at yourself and write a list of things you are good at, maybe there is some talent that you have that could be a viable business.

There are also businesses you can start up for very low costs. With a little research you should be able to find something that is a great fit for you. That’s what I did.
